Application guidance
We thank you for your interest in applying for a role at Lifesaver First Aid Services. Our people are at the heart of everything we do. They’re the reason we can provide life-saving training and support to our communities. Below is useful guidance on relevant stages, procedures and policies surrounding the application process.Â
Application forms and documents
If you need this information or any of our job application forms in a different format – such as large print, audio, Braille, or Easy Read – please get in touch with us at humanresources@lfas.org.uk. We’re happy to accept applications in these formats.
We’re committed to being a workplace that’s open to everyone. That’s why we want to make sure everyone has a fair chance when applying for a job with us. We also ask that you visit our accreditation page, to see how you may be supported further. To help you with your application, we’ve put together some useful guidance about what we’re looking for.
Please clearly explain why you’re right for the role, keeping your answers brief and to the point. These questions will be within an application form.
Right to work in the UK
Any job offer from Lifesaver First Aid Services depends on you proving that you’re allowed to work in the UK, in line with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. If you’re successful, we’ll ask you to show evidence of your right to work before we can confirm your employment.
Please note that Lifesaver First Aid Services does not hold a sponsor licence, so we’re unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for visas.
Interview guidance
If you’re shortlisted, we’ll invite you to an interview. For some roles, we may ask you to complete extra assessments, such as a task or practical test. If this applies, we’ll either tell you in the job pack or when we invite you to interview.
We do not normally pay travel costs for interviews. However, if you receive Jobseeker’s Allowance, we may be able to cover reasonable travel costs up to £50, if you get approval from us before your interview. Please contact us in advance for more information.
Diversity and equal opportunities
At Lifesaver First Aid Services, we value diversity and are committed to being an inclusive employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, and we aim to treat everyone fairly during the recruitment process.
To help us check that our hiring practices are fair and free from discrimination, we ask all applicants to complete a short diversity monitoring form. This information is confidential and is not shared with anyone involved in shortlisting or interviews. If you don’t want to answer any of the questions, just select ‘prefer not to say’.
