How we will support you

Here at Lifesaver First Aid Services, we aspire to support and encourage our employees in anyways possible. Below we set out some of the benefits of being employed with us, important employment information, and how we will support individuals in and outside of their job.

Financial benefits

We make sure that our pay is competitive against other industry measures. We include additional pay for antisocial hours and include expenses for travel and other similar costs.  

You’ll also be automatically enrolled in our personal pension scheme where you are eligible.  

Health and Wellbeing

We take the health and wellbeing of our staff very seriously. We are signed up to a range of accreditation showing our support for carers, women in menopause,  

 Flexible Working 

We embrace flexible working. We’ll support you to achieve the work life balance that works for you, alongside the needs of our organisation. Our staff work a number of different patterns, including part time and compressed hours. Most of us work in a hybrid way (from both our homes and office). 

Menopause Support 

Comprehensive guidance is in place to support colleagues and their peers going through the menopause. We have also signed up to the menopause pledge. You can read more about this here.  

Leave

Annual Leave 

We all start with 25 days holiday  entitlement per year (full time equivalent, excluding bank holidays). After 3 years of service, your leave rises by one day per year, up to a maximum of 30 days.   

 Annual leave purchase scheme 

You can purchase up to an additional 3 weeks of annual leave each year.  

 Other leave  

We offer a wide range of statutory, special leave and voluntary leave. This includes paid leave for Armed Forces reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, as part of our Armed Forces Covenant commitment.

Building your career 

We will help you develop your career. We’ve got a range of learning and development opportunities for you to choose from. 

 In house training and e-learning 

We offer free and discounted in-house training courses and access to Pulse, our e-learning platform, where staff can access a wide range of courses.  

 External Courses 

You can also request to attend external courses and seminars relevant to your role and personal development. 

 Job Opportunities  

All of our roles are advertised on our intranet with opportunities for short term secondments to other teams and temporary and substantive promotions.  

Recognition

Long Service Awards 

We like to celebrate colleagues who have been with us for a long time. Our long service awards mark 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of employment with the LFAS.  

Recognition Awards 

Every year we take time to celebrate the many achievements of our colleagues through our annual recognition awards.

Trade Union membership

We welcome and encourage staff from all trade unions. We do not currently have a recognised union, however we are hopeful to be able to do this in the near future.
